I love this restaurant. The food is good if you want American Mexican. The decor is very nice and the wait staff are great. The prices have been slowly increasing to what I feel is unreasonable. On the online menu the price for quesadilla is 5.99 for bean and cheese. I asked over the phone for no beans and beef tips to be added. I didn't have any sides..no refried beans, no rice and no salad. I paid $13 each for two. $26 dollars for 4 tortillas, some cheese and probably half a cup of shreaded beef...if that. Are you kidding me? I also ordered a large queso dip...charged $11. For....melted cheese. Wow. And a large bag of chips was $6. I asked them to take the chips back. Who would pay that? I love the food but being married to a Mexican I'm aware of what it would cost at home to make these things and these prices are just ...marked up way beyond what I'm willing to pay. If other people want to pay $13 dollars for a quesadilla that cost them less than $4 to make...that's on them. Wait staff make very little per hour on payroll and I'm sure he buys food wholesale. I just don't get it. I won't be going back unless their prices come down. If you go there be aware that you'll pay a huge mark up.
If you're expecting suburban Mexican food like Plaza Azteca in Vb, like I was mistakenly expecting, you will be disappointed. My crunchy taco shell was chewy, chips half stale too. Beef enchilada unseasoned, guacamole tasted like pennies (super weird flavor for guacamole). I don't like leaving negative reviews but I think my expectations are the same as a lot of people traveling through DE to NY from VA, and wanted to share that this place is unlike Hampton Roads Mexican even though the place seems very similar.
Usually very fast and delicious. Not so tonight. Went in, waited for 15 min and never even had a server come take drink orders. We just casually walked back out. No one even noticed. Very odd for them
Service was slow. I think I'm the only table in my server's section. I feel ignored. They also got my order wrong.
Excellent food, kid friendly, decent prices
