Great food and service! Loved watching the eagles on the TV.
My family loves the grottos in lewes, we have almost every family get together there from births to deaths and everything in between. We’ve had our family party’s at the lewes, Dover, Middletown, and downtown rehoboth locations and never had a problem. I have family in Middletown so the Milford location is a good middle as a lot of my family is older and doesn’t want to drive hours and hours either way. We called a week in advance to set up a table for us and were down right refused. We were gonna exchange gifts there this year for Xmas so all the little ones could have everything to open on Xmas morning my daughter included. We’re all very disappointed that you refuse such loyal patrons service. We love grottos, but this location obviously has something seriously wrong with it
We were seated promptly. The wait staff was attentive. Our food was cooked properly. The bill was correct. Everything went as it should. Perfect.
On the way home from Delaware, we absolutely have to stop at Grotto Pizza, a Delaware chain that is unavoidable. With a slogan like “the legendary taste”, we can’t stay away. We stop off the road at a huge location that features a massive bar that sports football fans from just about every franchise. The pizza is actually noticeably better than most chain locales. The sauce has a unique spice in it that separates it from the joints we have. It’s by no means gourmet, but it exceeds similar options. It also makes for a great road trip meal.
I give Grotto's pizza only 2 to 3 stars. Frankly, I think it's kind of crappy along with most of their other items. But the atmosphere, bar, bar prices, and beer temperature is definitely 5 stars so the scores average out to 4 stars.
